According to 1050 ESPN the Mets will be meeting with Scott Boras who represents both Oliver Perez and Derek Lowe.
The NY Post confirms that Omar Minaya and Scott Boras will have lunch together on Wednesday.
Here is what ESPN originally posted on their blog:
A source says while in New York, Scott Boras will hold a face-to-face meeting with Mets executives to discuss Derek Lowe and Oliver Perez. Boras is in New York today as part of the Yankees’ Mark Teixeira press conference. The Mets have reportedly offered Lowe a three-year, $36 million contract. Boras is seeking money in the A.J. Burnett, five-year, $83 million-range for Lowe.
This may just be the prelude to some significant negotiations as both the Mets camp and the Boras camp try to iron something out for Lowe, Perez or even both.
