Mets Minors Recap: Amick Homers Twice In Win For Syracuse

Billy Amick left the yard twice on Wednesday as he tries to find his footing at the Triple-A level. Émilien Pitre continues to put the bat on the baseball; his contact tool has shined at every destination thus far. Trey Snyder has found a groove for Brooklyn; he’s batting over .400 over his last seven games.

Émilien Pitre has hit in six straight games and is 9-for-30 in Triple-A so far, a strong opening to his Mets tenure since the trade deadline. Billy Amick had an incredible day for Syracuse on Wednesday, with two homers and three RBIs after starting out 2-for-21 through his first six games.

Mark Vientos (fractured right hand) continued his rehab assignment with Syracuse, collecting two hits including a home run.

It was an impressive day for the Syracuse bullpen as five pitchers combined for 12 strikeouts and zero walks over nine innings. Tobias Myers delivered a strong outing in relief, striking out six, including an immaculate inning.

The Binghamton lineup was stifled on Wednesday as they accumulated four total hits. Eli Serrano (shoulder strain) homered for the second straight game since returning from the IL. John Bay continues his encouraging month of August at the Double-A level. He is slashing .292/.361/.417 with two homers and 12 RBIs.

Noah Hall made his fifth start for Binghamton and gave up three home runs, striking out six over six innings. He has struggled as of late, surrendering 16 ER over 15 2/3 IP. Brendan Girton has been solid in his last five appearances out of the bullpen, giving up one run while striking out four.

Colin Houck has hit in five straight games (6-for-21), meanwhile Trey Snyder has been red hot since Aug. 18. Over his last seven games, he is batting .414 with a double and 13 RBIs.
