Jefferson Rojas and Jonah Tong are both considered top-100 prospects by ESPN.

The duo made the top-100 update released Thursday.

Rojas came in at No. 40 in ESPN’s first edition of this list since he was traded to the Mets. Jonah Tong was ranked No. 79.

ESPN’s previous version of this ranking came out on May 21. Rojas, while a member of the Chicago Cubs’ system, was unranked at the time. For what it’s worth, Rojas posted a .672 OPS in May with the Cubs’ Double-A team.

Rojas went on to put up a .991 OPS in June, eventually leading to his trade to the Mets for Clay Holmes and Tyrone Taylor. He’s batting .271/.327/.500 in 12 games for Double-A Binghamton. His OPS for the season is above .800 — a solid bounce back after struggling in his first taste of Double-A ball in 2025. Rojas is still only 21 years old.

As the No. 40 prospect in baseball, Rojas was listed by ESPN as the fifth prospect in the “50 [grade] future value” tier. The top 19 prospects were considered as “60 FV,” while Nos. 20-35 were in the “55 FV.” ESPN did not include any further thoughts on Rojas.

Tong, meanwhile, dropped from No. 36 in the previous update to 79 this time around. This falls in line with his trends in other lists; his stock has dropped throughout a shaky 2026, but he hasn’t quite plummeted to “bust” status. Baseball America moved him from 68 to 94 in its last two top-100 lists. MLB Pipeline has Tong unranked entirely.

Tong came in one spot behind former Mets prospect Jett Williams, who’s also struggled this year.

Tong has a 5.15 ERA in 94 1/3 innings over 21 starts for Triple-A Syracuse this season. He has a good 11.0 SO/9, but with a 5.2 BB/9 and 2.1 HR/9. He hasn’t found consistency at Triple-A after dominating Double-A.

Tong has gotten 28 2/3 MLB innings between this year and last, accumulating a 6.28 ERA with 29 strikeouts and 16 walks.
