Today was not a great day for the Mets farm as outside of St. Lucie the pitching struggled heavily. For the most part the offense did look good, and Trey Snyder looks like he could be breaking out and potentially forcing his way to High-A sooner rather than later. Mike Tauchman is still working his way back from spring knee surgery and had his best game.

Triple-A

Scranton/WB (50-43) 13, Syracuse (47-49) 5

Box Score

The Syracuse Mets offense tried to mount a comeback against former Met Rafael Montero but came up short scoring five runs to the thirteen they gave up. Ryan Clifford continues to be absolutely lost at the plate while Nick Morabito continues to play well. MJ Melendez and Christopher Morel look great and could get some time in the majors after the trade deadline.

Jack Wenninger was limited to only three innings as he threw 34 pitches in the third inning. He started the third inning with diminished velocity and struggled to put hitters away. The defense did not help him or Gómez who replaced him. Overall, the pitching was terrible and that is why they lost today.

Double-A

Portland (49-41) 4, Binghamton (33-58) 3

Box Score

John Bay did not get a hit in his first game in Double-A but he worked a walk but he made good contact. Mike Tauchman continued his rehab assignment with two hits. The lineup did walk five times but only got five hits and their three runs scored was not enough

Trey Snyder keeps looking better and is now hitting over .300 with an OPS over .800. I previously mentioned that he could be a potential pop up prospect for 2027 but he may be ahead of schedule. He has been hitting the ball harder recently without sacrificing contact and is doing a good job of maximizing his 90% exit velocities.

The St. Lucie pitchers overall looked strong today outside of a few too many walks. Connor Ware did an incredible job at generating whiffs at 41.7% while Zack Mack continues to throw scoreless innings.

The offense was largely silent today with the bats and on the defensive side they made multiple errors. Vladi Gomez continues to look strong.

The pitching struggled heavily walking an unbelievable 15 batters and only striking out three.

It is good to see Wandy Asigen back after another injury scare and he looked good today. Ramirez and Cuello continue to impress. Overall, the lineup performed very well.

Today was largely a bullpen game and the pitching had to work around multiple errors, but they got the job done in the end.

DSL Mets Blue

While the offense were able to get their walks, they did not get many hits. They did score four runs, but it was not enough.

It is hard to imagine a worse pitching performance than giving up 20 runs on 17 walks and eight hits. “Only” ten runs were earned, so the defense is partially to blame but they still walked 17.
