Per Will Sammon of the Athletic, Austin Warren was placed on the injured list with an undisclosed injury and will undergo imaging. The Mets already triggered his option for 2026 as he spent more than twenty days in the minor leagues so the injury is serious enough that they felt the need to pace him on the injured list instead of working through things in Syracuse.

Warren is coming off back-to-back rough appearances where he gave up nine runs in two innings. Before that he had a 2.45 ERA and 1.27 WHIP across 33 innings pitched.

The Mets also designated right-hander Matt Seelinger for assignment after his disastrous MLB debut on Tuesday.

In the corresponding moves, the Mets selected the contract of right-hander Xzavion Curry from Triple-A and recalled righty Tobias Myers.

Marcus Semien revealed he started feeling his hip pain in early May but it came and went. By the time he went on the injured list in June it was too much to play through. He believes the injury came from overcompensating from his previous foot injury.

Jorge Polanco who just returned will start playing primarily as the designated hitter, but the Mets hope he will be able to play the field by the end of the season. For the time being he will get regular rest and not play every day.
