Good morning, Mets fans!

Rob Manfred said Wednesday that he worries a little bit about having a work stoppage similar to what Major League Baseball endured starting in the summer of 1994. After play stopped in the middle of August, the stoppage lasted 232 days.

“Look, we want to make an agreement. We made a proposal on one set of topics at the outset of negotiations, I went and said myself, we’re open to whatever ideas people have,” Manfred said. “But we need a realistic framework that addresses the fans’ concerns about competitive balance, and you just can’t ignore that financial penalties have not gotten it done for us.”
