The Mets’ minor league affiliates went 2-2 on Wednesday, with both Single-A teams losing. The Double-A and Triple-A teams found a way to win alongside the Mets in Colorado. The big story of the day was a gem of a start from Jack Wenninger, who fired six scoreless innings en route to a Syracuse victory. He improved his ERA in Triple-A to 1.27. Outside of a slightly elevated walk rate, some of the best work of Wenninger’s development has been on display in his four starts in Triple-A so far, so Mets fans are finding lots of reason to be excited.

- CF John Bay: 1-for-3, R, BB, 2 RBI, K

Henriquez’s double was his first hit of the year — he has gone 1-for-19 (.053) so far. Low-A
Lakeland Flying Tigers 5, St. Lucie Mets 4
Box Score
- SS Elian Peña: 1-for-5, R, SB (11), 2 K

Stop me if you have heard this one before: Elian Peña got on base and stole a base, and Randy Guzman hit a home run. Now, Peña did strike out another two times, but he has continued to look very comfortable at the plate. Guzman crushed his seventh home run of the year and has displayed an impressive power tool during his time in St. Lucie.
- RHP Joel Lara: 3 IP, 4 ER, 3 H, BB, 2 K (11.74 ERA)
- RHP Miguel Mejias: 1 IP, BB, K (7.36 ERA)
- LHP Conner Ware: 4 IP, ER, 2 H, 2 BB, 5 K (5.73 ERA)

Lara allowed four runs in his three innings of work, including a home run to Beau Ankeney. Ware struck out five in his four innings of bulk relief, but he was responsible for giving up the fifth run and took the loss.
