Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reported that outfielder Tommy Pham cleared waivers and the Mets outrighted him to Triple-A Syracuse. However, Pham decided to elect free agency instead of accepting the assignment.

Alex Stumpf, covering the Pittsburgh Pirates, reported that veteran right-handed pitcher Chris Devenski is heading to the Pirates. He struck out 14 over eight innings with Triple-A Indianapolis this season.
