Well, at least tonight won’t go 18 innings!
Another marathon playoff game took place last night, with the Dodgers and Blue Jays going 18 innings in Game 3. Ultimately, the Blue Jays fell after a walk-off Freddie Freeman home run. Shohei Ohtani went 4-for-4 with five walks last night, clawing the Dodgers back from deficits himself on multiple occasions. The Dodgers used 10 pitchers, and the Blue Jays used nine.
Now, Shane Bieber and Ohtani will look to give each team length in Game 4 as the Blue Jays border on a must-win.

Game Notes
- Get ready for the Shohei Ohtani show again. His last time out pitching, he threw six innings of one-run ball and hit three home runs. He was on base nine times last night. What will he do tonight? Anything is possible, really. He’s reached in 10 consecutive plate appearances, which is already a World Series record.
- Alejandro Kirk’s five homers are tied for the most by a catcher in a single postseason (Cal Raleigh and Sandy Alomar Jr.).
- George Springer (.761) and Freddie Freeman (.745) are first and third, respectively, in slugging percentage in the World Series all-time.
- George Springer was described as “hour-to-hour” with his oblique injury, but he’s not in the starting lineup. He may be available off the bench.
