Joanh Tong’s Recognition

There’s no question about Tong’s success in 2025. The Mets  prospect began the season in Double-A and worked his way up to the big leagues, where he has continued to shine even through working through a couple rough outings.

During his time in Binghamton, Tong was 8-5, with a 1.59 ERA through 20 starts. Through the course of 102 innings, the righty gave up just 18 earned runs on 50 hits, two home runs, walked 44, and struck out an insane 162 batters, ending his time in Double-A with a 0.92 WHIP. He was named the Eastern League pitcher of the week three times (twice this year, May 11 and May 18), Eastern League Pitcher of the Month twice (May and June), and he has now earned Easter League Pitcher of the Year and was named an Eastern League post-season All-Star.

Between Binghamton and Syracuse together, Tong was 10-5 with a 1.43 ERA over the course of 22 starts. In 113 2/3 innings, he gave up just 18 earned runs on 58 hits, walked 47, and struck out 179 for a 0.92 WHIP. Opposing batters hit just .148 against him.

Jett Williams Impressed

Williams battled back in 2025 and continued to have success after battling an injury that put him on the 60-day injured list in 2024.

Ranked as the No. 2 prospect in the Mets organization, Williams spent the majority of the 2025 season with Binghamton before being promoted to Syracuse in August.

While in Double-A this season he hit .281/.390/.477, with a .867 OPS. Through 96 games with Binghamton he hit 29 doubles, five triples, 10 home runs, drove in 37 RBIs, stole 32 bases, and had 70 runs scored.

Combined with Triple-A, Williams hit .261/.363/.465, with a .828 OPS.

Mets’ Depth Shows

Orellana, Clifford, Suarez, and Wenninger were all named All-Stars for 2025 as well.

Orellana, the Mets’ No. 26 prospect according to MLB.com, as 4-1 with five saves, and a 2.96 ERA in 2025. Through 41 relief appearances and one start this season, he struck out 63 and had a WHIP of 1.34 over the course of 51 2/3 innings.

Clifford also found himself having a breakout season in 2025, starting the year in Double-A Binghamton and is now a part of the Syracuse Mets squad.

Clifford began to break-out in Double-A hitting .243/.355/.493, with a .848 OPS. He had 18 doubles, one triple, 24 home runs, drove in 75, and had 56 runs scored. He was promoted to Triple-A in August. In total between both Double-A and Triple this season he is batting .237/.356/.470, with a .826 OPS.

Right-handed pitching Suarez also began the season with Double-A Binghamton before being promoted to Syracuse earlier this month. However, he was recently re-assigned back to Double-A last week.

Suarez was 6-4 with a 3.76 ERA. Through 23 games (18 starts), he threw 93 1/3 innings, giving up 39 earned runs on 81 hits, 17 walks, and has struck out 93. He has WHIP of 0.83 and hitters are batting .228 against him.

Wenninger, the Mets’ No. 13 prospect has spent the entirety of the 2025 season with Double-A Binghamton. The right-handed pitcher is 12-6 with a 2.92 ERA over through of 26 starts. Through 135 2/3 innings, he has given up 44 earned runs on 114 hits, 42 walks, and struck out 147. He has a 1.15 WHIP. If he throws the ball well during spring training, he too could hear his name called for promotion to Triple-A next season. He could easily be the Mets’ best pitching prospect once Tong, Nolan McLean and Brandon Sproat all graduate from prospect lists.

Rounding out the award winners for the Mets’ Double-A affiliate is the manager Reid Brignac. He led the Rumble Ponies to a 90-46 record this season and were crowned 2025 Northeast Division Champions with a series win over the Somerset Patriots (New York Yankees). They are currently down 0-1 to the Erie Seawolves in the Eastern League Championship Series. Game 2 is Tuesday night at 6:35 p.m.
