Manager Reid Brignac will have a lot of talent to work with when the Rumble Ponies start their season on Friday at New Hampshire. Here is the 2025 preliminary roster, announced by the team, highlighted by some of the team’s top prospects: Jett Williams, Jonah Tong, Ryan Clifford, and Nolan McLean.

The season starts Friday, April 4.

CATCHERS

Kevin Parada – The 2022 first round pick hit 13 home runs and .214/.304/.359 in 454 plate appearances at Binghamton last season.

Matt O’Neill – The 27-year-old has hit .191 in 765 at-bats over five minor league seasons. He played high school baseball at Seton Hall Prep in West Orange, N.J. The Mets selected him in the 20th round of the 2019 draft out of Penn.

INFIELDERS

Jett WilliamsMMO’s No. 2 prospect in the organization will try to bounce back from an injury-riddled 2024 that saw him regress to a .656 OPS in 148 plate appearances. Williams was selected in the first round (14th overall) of the 2022 draft and impressed in 2023 when he hit .263/.425/.451 with 13 homers and 45 steals in 121 games across three minor league levels.

Ryan Clifford – The 21-year-old who came over in the trade for Justin Verlander hit .228/.372/.421 with 19 home runs and 68 RBI last season combined between Single-A Brooklyn and Binghamton.

Nick Lorusso – The 24-year-old hit 11 homers and slashed .267/.365/.470 in 310 plate appearances at Brooklyn last year. He was a ninth round pick in 2023 out of Maryland after he hit 26 homers, drove in 105 and posted a 1.211 OPS in 61 games for the Terrapins.

Wyatt Young – The 25-year-old hit .287/.387/.358 with four homers and 17 steals combined at Binghamton and Syracuse last season.

Yonny Hernández – In 189 MLB at-bats with three teams, he’s hit .190/.286/.222. He last played in 14 games for the Dodgers in 2023. The Mets signed the 26-year-old as a free agent in December.

William Lugo – Slashed .186/.332/.339 with eight home runs in 346 plate appearances at Brooklyn last season. Started 59 games at short, 17 at third and two at first.

OUTFIELDERS

Nick Morabito – The speedster stole 59 in 74 attempts last year between Low-A St. Lucie and Brooklyn while hitting .312/.403/.398 with four homers, 17 doubles and five triples. He plays all three outfield positions.

Alex Ramírez – He hit .210/.299/.590 with five homers and 40 stolen bases in 540 plate appearances for Binghamton last year.

PITCHERS

Jonah Tong – In 25 appearances (23 starts) across three levels last year, the 21-year-old Canadian was 6-4 with a 3.03 ERA and 1.16 WHIP. He tallied 160 strikeouts against 47 walks in 113 innings pitched.

Nolan McLean – The 2022 third round pick was a two-way player until he gave up hitting last season (too many strikeouts) to focus on pitching. His ERA was 2.57 in seven starts at Brooklyn, but jumped to 4.74 in 18 starts at Binghamton, where he struck out 80 and walked 32 in 81.2 innings pitched.

Alex Carrillo – The 27-year-old right-hander posted a 3.31 ERA and 1.21 WHIP and fanned 49 in 35.1 innings pitched in Independent League ball a year ago.

Joshua Cornielly – The reliever punched out 71 in 55.1 innings pitched at Brooklyn and Binghamton last season with an ERA of 3.42 and a 0.97 WHIP.

Felipe De La Cruz – The lefty was 3-9 with a 4.25 ERA and 1.39 WHIP at Brooklyn a year ago. He made 24 starts, pitched 106 innings, struck out 116 and walked 45.

Cameron Foster – In 27 appearances for Binghamton (nine starts), he was 4-2 with a 3.64 ERA and 1.49 WHIP, 68 strikeouts in 71.2 innings pitched and 33 walks.

Daniel Juarez – The 24-year-old lefty reliever struggled at Binghamton last year, pitching to a 5.09 ERA and 1.55 WHIP over 35.1 innings. He fanned 33 and walked 21.

Trey McLoughlin – In 33.1 innings pitched for Binghamton last season, he had 39 strikeouts, a 1.89 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. He gave up four earned runs in nine innings of work at Syracuse.

Luis Moreno – He made 25 appearances (19 starts) for Binghamton last year, going 3-7 with a 4.27 ERA and 1.39 WHIP.

Douglas Orellana – The 22-year-old Venezualan right-hander was 0-1 with a 1.86 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 13 appearances (nine starts) for Brooklyn in 2024. He struck out 49 and walked 18 in 38.2 innings pitched.

Hunter Parsons – The 27-year-old taken in the 19th round of the 2019 draft has posted a 4.44 ERA and 1.37 WHIP over five minor league seasons (194.2 IP). He gave up 11 earned runs in 12 innings combined for Binghamton and Syracuse last year.

Jonathan Pintaro – He went 3-6 with a 2.68 ERA and 1.16 WHIP across three levels last season, striking out 75 in 74 innings pitched over 17 appearances (15 starts).

TJ Shook – The 26-year-old was acquired from the Brewers last July in a trade for Tyler Jay. In 85 innings pitched at the Double-A level last year at Binghamton and Biloxi, he had 107 strikeouts, a 4.66 ERA and 1.27 WHIP. He made 11 starts for Biloxi, but only pitched in relief for Binghamton.

Joander Suárez – He was 9-5 with a 3.92 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 23 appearances (21 starts) at Binghamton last year before giving up 12 earned runs over nine innings in two starts at Syracuse. He had 124 strikeouts in 128.1 innings combined at the two levels.

Jack Wenninger – The sixth round pick from the University of Illinois in the 2023 draft fared better at Brooklyn last year than at Low-A St. Lucie. He was 1-2 with a 3.12 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 10 appearances (nine starts) for the Cyclones after going 3-4 with a 5.02 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 15 appearances (10 starts) at St. Lucie. All together, the 23-year-old had 140 strikeouts in 115 innings pitched.
