Good morning, Mets fans!
Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported that the Mets sold $1 million in single-game tickets on Wednesday, the day that it was announced Carlos Correa and the Mets had a deal. Steve Cohen made a promise to the fanbase when he became owner of the Mets that he would commit to winning. Last year’s 101-win performance coupled with the historic offseason the Mets are in the midst of has shown that he is fulfilling his promise by going all in, and Correa is the latest example of this. Correa is a superstar, especially in the biggest moments, and Mets fans are clearly very excited to get to Citi Field and see him in action next season.
Heyman also reported that the Mets sent a private plane to Houston to pick Correa up for his physical with the team. If all goes well, the deal should become official within the next few days.
