Dominican Winter League (from Sunday, October 31)

Ronny Mauricio continued his pattern of dominant hitting since the Dominican Winter League started, going 1-5 at the plate in the Tigres del Licey’s 3-2 loss to the Leones del Escogido. However, Mauricio had two defensive errors in the fourth inning with a bad throw and a fielding error.

Mauricio and the Tigres will face the Toros de Este tonight at 7:15 PM eastern time.

Arizona Fall League (from Monday, November 1)

The Glendale Desert Dogs defeated the Salt River Rafters by a score of 8-5 on Monday night. Two Mets prospects batted in this game (Brett Baty and Carlos Cortes) and two mets prospects pitched in this game (Colin Holderman and Brian Metoyer).

  • Brett Baty – 3B: 1-3, BB.
  • Carlos Cortes – DH: 0-2, 2 BB, 2 K

Brett Baty had a good day at the plate, drawing a walk and hitting a single in his plate appearances. Carlos Cortes did not have a hit in this game, but he did manage to walk twice. Also, Cortes was caught stealing on Monday night.

  • Brian Metoyer: 1 IP, 2 K
  • Colin Holderman: 1 IP, 1 H

Both Mets prospects had a good day on the mound, as both Metoyer and Holderman delivered a scoreless inning. Obviously, the sample sizes for these pitchers were low in this game, but still a couple of positive outings.
