LOS ANGELES DODGERS (0-0) at ATLANTA BRAVES (0-0)
RHP Corey Knebel (4-0, 2.45 ERA) vs. LHP Max Fried (14-7, 3.04 ERA)
Game #1 8:08 p.m. ET – Truist Park – TBS
The Dodgers and Braves will kick off the NLCS tonight. The Dodgers are going with an opener in Knebel. The opener strategy worked in their most recent game, when they edged the Giants 2-1 in the deciding game of the NLDS. Knebel has a 0.73 ERA and 18 strikeouts over 12 postseason outings.
The Dodgers eliminated one familiar face for Mets fans in the NLDS, as Wilmer Flores made the final out on a controversial call. But Mets fans will see another old friend in the Braves’ lineup tonight, with Travis d’Arnaud batting seventh.
The Dodgers won 106 games in the regular season, while the Braves only won 88. Yet, because the Dodgers were the Wild Card team, the Braves will have home field advantage in this series.
