Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News has now refuted the report of there being a noon deadline for Trevor Bauer to accept the Mets contract offer. Still, Thosar says we should know soon one way or the other on where Bauer will chose to sign.

According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the Mets have set a hard deadline of 12:00 p.m. ET today for Trevor Bauer to accept their contract offer. Sherman reports that the deal likely includes opt-outs after each of the first two season of a three-year deal.

The contract is reportedly worth $40 million in both year one and year two, but worth less than that in the final year. Total value of the contract is worth between $100 to $110 million according to Sherman.

Mets beat writer Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News also reported that the Mets should have their answer on Bauer at some point today.

The Los Angeles Dodgers appear to be the other team in on a Bauer and the Mets fear that his desire to return to Southern California could be why a decision has not been made yet. This now gives us a clear timetable for when we will have some resolution on these sweepstakes.

Stay tuned, as we will keep you updated here at MMO with the latest as this negotiation unfolds.
