New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted on Friday afternoon that the New York City Law Department finished their legal review of the sale of the New York Mets to Steve Cohen and they have no objections.
De Blasio noted that the team can now proceed with the transaction.
Earlier on Friday, the Major League Baseball owners voted to approve Cohen’s bid to buy the Mets.
Move over Wilpons, it’s time for Steve Cohen.
