There may not be actual baseball right now, but Michael Conforto is continuing to work his way back from injury.

In the beginning of March, during a Spring Training game, Conforto came out of the game after tweaking his side, later being diagnosed with a mild oblique strain.

According to Mike Puma of the New York Post, Conforto is taking regular batting practice. Team officials have been encouraged by this and it is likely that if baseball were still being played by right now, he would have either returned to the lineup or been close to returning.

Basically, summed up, this means that whenever baseball does come back, Conforto should be there and able to fully participate. This is good news, especially for the Mets outfield.

There is still a concern about Yoenis Cespedes and Jed Lowrie being able to fully handle the load of a full baseball workout schedule.

In 2019, Conforto went .257/.363/.494 with 92 RBIs and 33 home runs, showing his power at the plate. In terms of defense, his +7 OAA landed him third among all qualified MLB right fielders last season.
