According to a report by Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, the Mets search for manager is down to Eduardo Perez and Carlos Beltran.

Sources I talked to on Friday, said the Mets could make a choice soon and a potential announcement on Monday.

Derek Shelton and Pat Murphy both made it to the final round of interviews – which took place with owner Fred Wilpon – but are not reportedly still being considered for the job.

The Mets fired two-year manager Mickey Callaway on October 3 and Joe Girardi was immediately seen as the fan favorite. Girardi was ultimately hired to become the Phillies new manager last week.

Much like Callaway, neither Perez nor Beltran have major league managerial experience. Though, Perez, has managed in Puerto Rico in the regular season and winter ball, as well as in the World Baseball Classic for Colombia. Perez has also been a major league bench coach and first base coach.

Beltran spent the 2019 working in the Yankees front office as a special advisor to general manager Brian Cashman.
