Wilson Ramos (offseason signing) had a hit, Robinson Cano (offseason trade) went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI and Edwin Diaz (offseason trade) picked up the save with a perfect ninth. Furthermore, two of the players he placed on the 25-man roster instead of Triple-A (Dominic Smith and Pete Alonso) contributed in the game as well.

The Mets have an off-day today before jumping back into action on Saturday at 1:05 p.m. EDT. The Mets will send Noah Syndergaard (0-0, -.– ERA) to the mound for that game to face Stephen Strasburg (0-0, -.– ERA).
Mickey Callaway pranked Alonso, Smith, Luis Guillorme, Tomas Nido and J.D. Davis on Wednesday before letting them know that they made the team. Six writers from the Yahoo Sports Staff shared their MLB predictions for the 2019 season. None of the writers predicted that the Mets would make the playoffs. The best ranking the Mets received was a third-place, 89-73 finish from Mike Oz while the worst ranking the Mets received was a fourth-place, 75-87 finish from both Chris Cwik and Liz Roscher.

The Mets released minor league J.J. Franco according to Jacob Resnick of Mets Minors. The infielder is the son of former Mets closer and current Mets baseball operations adviser John Franco.
