
LA & Cleveland Appear to Be Matching Up
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic updated ongoing talks between the Indians and the Dodgers, noting that “[Los Angeles] likes [Cleveland’s] starting pitchers” and that [Cleveland] needs outfielders”.
With Yan Gomes‘ name being floated around the league and the Dodgers’ outfield packed with talent in Joc Pederson, Yasiel Puig, and Alex Verdugo, there are possibilities here.
Harvey is Garnering Interest
Matt Harvey is drawing interest from the Reds as well as from Oakland, as per Jon Heyman. Harvey, 29, pitched to a 4.50 ERA in 24 starts for the Reds after the May trade that sent him from New York to Cincinnati.
Over seven starts from Aug 11 to Sept 14, the right-hander had a 2.88 ERA, adding credence to the theory that Harvey is finally healthy again.
Goldy to Minny?
Arizona first baseman Paul Goldschmidt has been the target of ongoing trade discussions and the Minnesota Twins have engaged the club regarding their All-Star slugger.
As per Jon Morosi of MLB.com, the “Twins and D-Backs have had preliminary talks, though the dialogue has not advanced in recent days”. Dan Hayes of The Athletic says a Goldschmidt trade “doesn’t appear to be a path the Twins will go down”.

Former Indians outfielder Michael Brantley has been drawing interest from the St. Louis Cardinals, as per Jon Morosi of MLB.com. Morosi says the Cards are “maintaining interest” in the 31-year-old.
