The New York Mets announced Tuesday that longtime public relations man Jay Horwitz will be shifted to a new role in the organization after 39 years in the position.
Horwitz, 72, has held the position of vice president of media relations for New York since 1980. He will now heading the newly-created Alumni Relations department.
When a new VP of media relations is named, we will keep you up to date.
Horwitz has been entrenched in the franchise for nearly four decades, through many different general managers, managers, coaches, players and even new owners.
We wish Jay the best in his new role.
