Yoenis Cespedes spoke with the press after the game and said it is his right quadriceps that is sore, NOT his hip as was first reported.
According to Cespedes, he injured it and felt something yesterday on a double-play grounder, but that this injury is different than the ones that have plagued him the last few years.
While he believes that his leaving the game was more precautionary than anything he did not exactly sound confident about his ability to play tomorrow night.
“I don’t know. Maybe.”

Yoenis Cespedes was removed from today’s game after the first inning with hip tightness, as per the team. It is unclear how severe the injury was, but the Mets obviously plan to ere on the side of caution with Cespedes.
The Mets had an injury scare with Cespedes exactly a week ago as the left fielder hurt his thumb against the San Diego Padres on a slide into third base.
Brandon Nimmo came into the game in place of Cespedes against the Colorado Rockies today.
Cespedes was hitting .240/.301/.446 with seven home runs and 26 RBI coming into today’s game. In his first at-bat, the 32-year old singled and later scored a run on a Todd Frazier sacrifice fly.
