Before the game, Matt Harvey was asked by the reporters as he entered Busch Stadium if he would be willing to speak with the media, presumably about his first relief outing. However, they were quickly declined and laughed at by him, according to Anthony Dicomo of MLB.com.

“No chance. Zero chance.”

He was then asked why he would not and followed up with an angry response.

“I have nothing to say to you guys. “I don’t [expletive] want to.”

This comes the day after Harvey made his first relief appearance in which he allowed one run in two innings of work. He also declined to speak with the media at that point as well.

The right-hander has refused to speak with the media since being moved to the bullpen.

Harvey has not been effective this year as the surgery to correct Thoracic Outlet Syndrome continues to take its toll on his career. He now has a 0-2 record to go along with a 5.87 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and .298 average against him in 23.0 innings of work.
