Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reported that the Mets and Indians have had serious discussions surrounding Jason Kipnis. To add on to that, Marc Carig of Newsday said the Mets would be more interested in Kipnis due to the fact they would not have to deal as much talent in a trade for say, Josh Harrison.
Carig adds that the Mets could consider Zack Cozart to play second base but it is a long shot. That would be one heck of a up-the-middle defense.
