
Masahiro Tanaka has decided he will not opt-out of his three-year, $67 million deal with the New York Yankees.
Tanaka, 29, went 13-12 with a 4.74 ERA, 4.34 FIP, 1.24 WHIP and allowed a career-high 34 home runs. He struck out 194 and walked 41 batters in 178.1 innings in the 2017 regular season.
The right-hander was lights out in the playoffs this year allowing only two earned runs on 10 hits in 20 innings.
Tanaka is 52-28 with a 3.56 ERA, 3.75 FIP, 1.10 WHIP and 5.11 SO/W in his major league career for the Yankees over four seasons.
The starting pitching market is headed by Yu Darvish, Jake Arrieta, Lance Lynn and Alex Cobb.
