According to Mike Puma of the New York Post, Manny Acta interviewed for the Mets managerial opening Tuesday, while Joe McEwing interviewed Wednesday and Mickey Callaway scheduled for Wednesday as well.

Acta, 48, served as the Mets third base coach in 2005 and 2006 before being hired as the manager of the Washington Nationals in 2007. He held that role through 2009 before landing up in Cleveland and was at the helm for the Indians from 2010-12.

He has most recently served as the third base coach for the Seattle Mariners in 2016 before being bumped up to bench coach last week.

Acta is currently the manager of the Águilas Cibaeñas of the Dominican Winter League. He also managed the Tigres del Licey from 2003–05, while leading the team to victory at the 2004 Caribbean Series. Acta managed the Dominican Republic team at the 2006 World Baseball Classic.

McEwing, 45, played for the Mets for five seasons (2000-04) and coached throughout the minors before being promoted to a coach at the Major League level in 2012.

His managerial experience in the minors includes minding the store for Single-A Winston-Salem Dash in the White Sox system where he won Manager of the Year and was rated the top managerial prospect in the South Atlantic League by Baseball America.

Lastly, Callaway is currently the Cleveland Indians pitching coach. He has been rumored to be a hot commodity for a managerial position and has been linked to the rival Philadelphia Phillies as well.

The 42-year-old has been a coach at the Major League level since 2013 after finishing up his professional career in 2009.
