The Scottsdale Scoprions lost 6-4 and are now 2-2 on the season. Only one Met played and that was Kevin Kaczmarski.
He went 2-for-5 while leading off the game. Kaczmarski had a three hit game to begin his season so this is a nice sign that he is adjusting well. The Scorpions will play tomorrow at 6:35 p.m.
Kaczmarski, 25, spent this past season with Double-A Binghamton where he hit .274/.370/.369 with five homers and 52 RBI in 128 games. He also swiped 15 bags. He was selected by the Mets in the ninth round of the 2015 draft
In the Venezuelan Winter League, Walter Rasquin had two at-bats but struck out both times before being pinch hit for. Rasquin hit .300/.341/.407 in the minors this past season.
There was not much action for Mets farmhands sans those two. Tomas Nido and Luis Guillorme should see more playing time tomorrow or at least in the coming days.
Nido, 23, got a cup of coffee with the Mets in late September, going 3-for-10 in five games. At Double-A Binghamton this year, the catcher hit .232/.287/.354 in 102 games.
As for Guillorme, the soft-handed second baseman had a strong year on both sides of the ball in 2017, hitting .283/.376/.331 with one homer and 43 RBI.
