Good Morning, Mets fans. Tonight the New York Mets will take on the San Diego Padres at 10:10 p.m. Steven Matz will toe the rubber to take on Jhoulys Chacin.
Around 1:20 a.m. on the east coast, the Mets won 6-5. Seth Lugo started out slow but rebounded for a nice start. Yoenis Cespedes homered, tripled and doubled, driving in three. He hit a go-ahead little league home run in the sixth to give New York a 6-4 lead.
Paul Sewald faced six and retired six in two innings of work. Addison Reed allowed an infield hit in the ninth and let that run score with two outs on a double but secured the save. His command was much better in the game than the night before.
