The Mets lost their sixth straight game as they fell to the Braves 7-5. More importantly, Yoenis Cespedes left the game early with a pulled left hamstring.
New York is now alone in the bottom of the standings for the National League East.
Pitching
Matt Harvey made the start after Noah Syndergaard was scratched with tendinitis in his right bicep.
Harvey struggled with command all afternoon as he walked a total of five batters (tied career high). He lasted only 4.1 innings and gave up six runs on five hits.
Josh Smoker came on in relief of Harvey and pitched very well. He retired all eight batters he faced and struck out four.
Addison Reed gave up a hit but struck out three in his lone inning of work.
Jeurys Familia struggled again, he walked two and allowed one run on one hit in his only inning.
Offense
Neil Walker had three hits on the day, two of them with runners in scoring position. He drove in a run on an RBI single in the fourth and then scored on a passed ball.
Jose Reyes poked his first home run of the season to lead off the fifth and singled in a run in the ninth. Reyes reached base three times, and is hitting .375 in his past three games.
Jay Bruce was on-base again as he lined a double down the right field line.
Curtis Granderson snapped an 0-for-16 stretch with a double in the ninth he came around to score on a Reyes single.
Travis d’Arnaud drove in a run with a ground out in the ninth.
Yoenis Cespedes doubled to lead off the fourth inning. However, he pulled up running to second and left the game with a pulled left hamstring.
