Keith Law of ESPN.com ranks Michael Conforto 12th overall and Dominic Smith 40th inside his top 50 prospect list.
Law believes Conforto has the potential to develop into a perennial 20 home run hitter with a .400 on base percentage. Law says that his discipline and excellent eye at the plate is what separates him from the competition in Double-A.
In 83 games this season, Conforto is hitting .295 with ten home runs and 49 RBI. He has an impressive .312 average and .869 OPS since getting called up to Double-A Binghamton.
While Smith has yet to hit many home runs, Law believes that it’s only a matter of time before his raw power translates into results. Law also thinks his defense at first base is elite.
The 20-year old prospect has four home runs this year with 53 RBI in 78 games. He was recently named the Florida State League player of the month for his outstanding production in June. In 26 games that month, he batted .352 with 20 RBI.
