dillon gee

Dillon Gee pitched 6.2 solid innings last night during his final rehab start for Double-A Binghamton. He allowed two earned runs and five hits while striking out four.

Gee has been on the DL since early May due to a groin injury, and his return will allow the Mets to expand to a six man rotation.

Gee was not happy with the Mets’ decision to have him make another rehab start and told reporters that he was “wasting bullets”.

He’s expected to start on June 2nd against the Padres in San Diego.

In 30.1 inning this season, Gee is 0-2 with a 3.86 ERA and 1.35 WHIP.

travis d'arnaud

Travis d’Arnaud is also continuing to make progress. He caught seven innings last night for Single-A St. Lucie, and went 0-3 at the plate.

D’Arnaud should be back during the Mets’ road trip that starts on Monday, but yesterday Terry Collins was reluctant to put an exact date on his arrival.

“We all know that Travis is on the road back,” manager Terry Collins said before the game. “But let’s not put any dates on it just yet. We’ve had too many interruptions along the way so we’ve just begun.” (Mike Puma, NY Post).

D’Arnaud was hitting .317 with two home runs and ten RBI before landing on the disabled list.
