Just one day after announcing that shortstop Troy Tulowitzki would be undergoing season ending surgery on his hip, the Rockies have announced that Carlos Gonzalez will also undergo season-ending surgery to repair the patellar tendon in his left knee.

Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki will miss the rest of the season to repair a labrum tear on his left hip according to Thomas Harding of MLB.com. No word as to how long this will sideline him and if he’ll start the 1015 season on time.
The All Star shortstop has been plagued by injuries throughout his career and he’s no stranger to the disabled list.
Tulo was having an MVP caliber season, batting .340/.432/.603 with 21 home runs, 52 RBI, and 71 runs scored in 91 games when he injured his hip while running out a grounder in late July.
Additionally, Carlos Gonzalez‘s patella tendon damage has not improved. CarGo, team brass and doctors will consult on Thursday to decide the next step. Gonzalez has battled knee issues all season long.
