
We present our Mets Midseason Top 25 Prospects. It’s just a quick and cursory look at our rankings before we get to work on our annual and much more extensive 2015 Top Prospects list in February. It was comprised from the individual rankings of myself and my minor league aficionados Kirk, Teddy, Brian and Connor. We then reproduced the list using rank points from all five lists. It gives a good indication of how we see the rankings before we hit the ballparks, speak to scouts, watch a bunch of video and hit the books to prepare for our major top prospect roll-out next year. Mid-Season Top 25 Prospects
- Noah Syndergaard RHP – Fire-baller keeps his top billing. See you in September?
- Brandon Nimmo CF – Stock keeps rising, jumps from No. 9 to No. 2.
- Michael Conforto RF – The Mets’ top pick in 2014 debuts in the No. 3 spot.
- Kevin Plawecki C – Solid stint in AA, but has struggled since promotion to Las Vegas.
- Dominic Smith 1B – Great approach, still waiting to see that power.
- Steven Matz LHP – Breezed through St. Lucie, now dominating in Bingo. Stock rising.
- Dilson Herrera 2B – What a haul for two months of Byrd. Looks legit to me.
- Amed Rosario SS – Big upside, holding own despite 3 years younger than league avg.
- Rafael Montero RHP – Slips from No. 3 but still posting solid numbers in AAA.
- Gavin Cecchini SS – Struggling in St. Lucie , needs strong showing to stay in top ten.
- Marcos Molina RHP – Live arm, smoking it in Brooklyn, has scouts buzzing.
- Matthew Bowman RHP – Has excelled at each level and now shining in Vegas.
- Gabriel Ynoa RHP – Rough start, turned it around, earned himself a promotion to AA.
- Akeel Morris RHP – Lightning in a bottle, could crack top 10 in February.
- Matt Reynolds IF – Posted a .852 OPS in Bingo, promoted to Vegas and still hitting.
- Cesar Puello OF – Dramatic stock decline, has faltered in hitting paradise of LV.
- Michael Fulmer RHP – Stock down, struggling in the pitching rich FSL.
- Cory Mazzoni RHP – He has the arm and potential, but needs to avoid the DL.
- Jhoan Urena 3B – Switch-hitter is drawing some attention with his line-drive bat.
- Wuilmer Becerra OF – Impressing scouts, having solid offensive showing in Kingsport.
- Robert Whalen RHP – Standout season in Savannah despite losing time to freak injury.
- Eudor Garcia 3B – 2014 4th rounder has hit the ground running with Kingsport.
- Milton Ramos SS – Defensive specialist who’ll need to show he can hit.
- Miller Diaz RHP – Having his best season as a pro in Savannah.
- Champ Stuart OF – May be the fastest player in the system and has a .380 OBP.
