UPDATE: Mets announced that Pedro Feliciano has been added to the 40 man roster and will join the team to replace the DL bound Josh Edgin.

Feliciano, 36, has retired all six batters he has faced — four lefties, two righties — over three appearances since the promotion from Binghamton to Las Vegas.

Overall, Feliciano has made 22 appearances as he continues his rehab, and in 21.0 innings pitched he has a 1.29 ERA while allowing just 14 hits and 4 walks, and 19 strikeouts.

Andrew Keh of the New York Times reports that Bobby Parnell has seen a doctor about his neck soreness and will be reexamined on Monday. He’s out tonight and likely tomorrow, at least.

Mets manager Terry Collins said he did not have Parnell available to pitch during Thursday’s 3-0 loss to the Miami Marlins. “He had a stiff neck the other night,” Collins said. “I don’t know if he slept on it or what it was.”

That prompted Parnell when asked if he knew the cause to respond with one word, “pillows.”

The team also announced surprisingly that Josh Edgin has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a stress fracture in his ribs. Edgin could be out for the season…

A replacement for his spot on the active roster has been announced yet.
