Dillon Gee had a good outing tonight, giving 4 runs (3 on his own, 1 Sean Green IHR) on 6 hits and 2 walks (both in the 7th) in 6.2 innings for his 13th win of the season. Lucas Duda was on base 4 times with 2 hits and 2 walks, Nick Evans and Kirk Nieuwenhuis both doubled. Fernando Martinez did not play (much to my disappointment, I want to see Duda/Nieuwenhuis/Martinez in the outfield! /me whines)

Armando Rodriguez had a FANTASTIC outing tonight, giving up just a run on 8 hits in 6 innings with 12 strikeouts, but he got a ND after Gabriel Zavala had his first horrific outing as a pitcher, getting torched for 3 runs on 4 hits in 0.1 innings, and being bailed out by Sam Martinez, who stranded his 3 IHRs.

The Gnats offense had just 5 hits, but plated 3 runs, going 1 for 3 with RISP and leaving 2 on base.

R Appalachian League: Kingsport 7/8/0, Danville 1/3/1

Welcome to 2010, Mr. Aldama. 8 innings of 3 hit ball from Eduardo in his best outing of the season as the Mets crushed Danville, 7 to 1. The Mets had 8 hits and a 4/7 BB/K, while going 5 for 15 with RISP and leaving 7 on base. Brandon Brown and Aderlin Rodriguez had multi hit games, while Chase Greene, ZeErika McQueen (0 for 4, K, .276) and Taylor Freeman (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .125) took 0-fers. In my opinion, Freeman serves no purpose on the Mets except to take playing time away from Albert Cordero, Nelfi Zapata and Amauris Valdez, and so should be cut.

cf Chase Greene 0 for 4, RBI (7), K, .219
ss Brandon Brown 2 for 5, run, RBI, .234
3b Aderlin Rodriguez 2 for 4, RBI (40), BB, .304
