Bobby Parnell continues to pitch very … weirdly. Including tonight, he’s gone 24.2 innings in AAA, with 14 walks and 27 strikeouts, but has an ERA over 5. Dylan Owen’s second AA outing was good, he gave up 2 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings, but he took a ND after Jose De La Torre gave up 2 runs (1 earned) over his inning. Ruben Tejada had another hit today, he’s now got a 6 game hitting streak, and is 9 for 20 over the 6 games.

Roy Merritt pitched a perfect 9th. The Mets had 6 hits and 4 walks, but were just 2 for 8 with RISP, left 8 on base, and struck out 7 times. Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Jose Coronado (0 for 3, .235) took the only 0-fers, no Met had a multi hit game.

Kyle. Allen. Allen finally had the start we’ve been waiting the better part of 2 months for. He went 8 innings, allowing just a run on 7 hits for his 4th win. In 3 of his last 4 outings, he’s allowed 2 runs on less over 6 innings or more. His ERA over those 4 outings, spanning 23. innings, is 2.28. For the first time all season, Allen didn’t walk anyone. Jose Bierd pitched the 9th for his 2nd save.
