Thompson Suspended 3 Games For Head-Hunting Wright

As reported on ESPN’s SportsCenter and mlb.com, Cardinals’ reliever Brad Thompson has been suspended by Major League Baseball for throwing a pitch near the head of David Wright.  The league deemed the inside pitch to be intentional, justifying the suspension. 8/6 Minor League Report! GUZMAN, Rivera!

INT AAA: Buffalo 6/7/2, Columbus 9/12/0 Tobi Stoner and Eddie Kunz had this one for the Bisons, and it was ugly. Stoner gave up 5 in 5.1 innings, Kunz gave up 4 in 2.2 innings, though he got all his outs via groundball. Buffalo made a late charge, but fell short.
