Arizona Fall League (AFL)
Mesa Solar Sox 11 – 5 Glendale Desert Dogs
Peoria Javelinas 6 – 5 Salt River Rafters
Scottsdale Scorpions 9 – 7 Surprise Saguaros
- DH Peter Alonso: 1-for-6, R, HR(3), 2 RBI(9), 2 K
- SS Andres Gimenez: 0-for-4, BB, K
There was a lot of scoring in this game, but, the Mets players weren’t a part of it until the top of the ninth inning. After a lead-off single by Abraham Toro-Hernandez, Peter Alonso would absolutely destroy a 0-1 slider, pulling it over the left field wall for a two-run homer to give the Scorpions a 6-5 lead heading into the bottom half of the inning.

The Saguaros would tie the game back up in the bottom of the ninth inning, but the Scorpions would eventually win it in the eleventh inning to improve their record to (6-4). Andres Gimenez continues to struggle in the Arizona Fall League as today’s performance drops his season stat line to .118 AVG/.639 OPS.

Caribes de Anzoategui – Aguilas del Zulia [Postponed due to Rain]
Tiburones de La Guaira 8 – 4 Tigres de Aragua

Cardenales de Lara 4 – 2 Navegantes del Magallanes
Dominican Winter League (LIDOM)
Leones del Escogido 3 – 1 Estrellas de Oriente
Toros del Este 7 – 3 Aguilas Cibaenas
This is the second night in a row the Toros have started Carlos Franco at first base over Dominic Smith. Teams in the LIDOM are known for being extremely competitive and will make any move necessary to ensure that they are fielding the best teams. While Franco’s season stat line hasn’t been that good, he did perform well today going 1-for-3 with a run scored, two RBI, a walk, and a strikeout. If Franco can put a string of solid games together it could lead to Smith being cut.
Gigantes del Cibao 1 – 0 Tigres del Licey
- 1B Joey Terdoslavich: 2-for-4, 2B
- LF Jhoan Urena: 0-for-2, BB, K
Although his RBI streak was ended after five games, Terdoslavich did have himself another solid day. In the top of the ninth, he slapped a ball the other way down the left field line for a double before being pulled from the game for a pinch runner. Jhoan Urena also got a rare start for himself. He grounded out to the second baseman in the third inning, walked, and struck out before being pulled for a defensive replacement in the top of the ninth inning.
