I have to be honest, I didn’t think GM Omar Minaya had it in him to land Jason Bay. I was ready to chalk up the 2010 season to rebuilding and maybe finishing in fourth place, but Minaya’s pursuit and subsequent landing of Bay to play left field for the Mets and possibly bat cleanup has changed my outlook of this team. Not entirely, of course, but this is a solid move that injects a […]
Last week Mike Vaccaro post a blog on the New York Post website that you can read right here saying that ticket agents from the Mets are questioning the loyalty of fans who have not yet renewed their season tickets for the 2010 season. I did get a phone call asking me if I was planning on buying the ticket package, but my loyalty to the team was not questioned by that particular agent, having […]
According to a report in today’s New York Daily News, New York Mets shortstop, Jose Reyes, visited a scrutinized doctor, Dr. Tony Galea, numerous times. Galea is a physician based out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, who is noted for using a technique called blood spinning to help athletes recover from injuries more quickly. As described in the article, the blood spinning technique, “involves putting a patient’s blood in a centrifuge to separate the platelets then […]
Last week Danny Krieger posted a blog about Yankee pitcher A.J. Burnett and his habit of shaving cream pies after a big win, if you like you can read that post here. Danny mentions how A.J. has brought fun back to the Bronx and how that fun translated into the Yankees winning season and perhaps winning a 27th World Series title. It got me thinking to the 2006 Mets. The 2006 team had a lot […]
Finally some good news on the Jose Reyes front. The Mets shortstop underwent surgery Thursday to clean up scar tissue around a torn hamstring tendon behind his right knee. The surgery was performed by Dr. Daniel Cooper at North Central Surgical Center in Dallas. The team said in a statement that Reyes will begin rehab in the near future and will resume baseball activities in January. Reyes played just 36 games this year because of […]
After putting it off for months, the day has finally come for Jose Reyes and the scalpel to become acquainted. From the category of better late than never, Jose Reyes will be undergoing surgery on his injured right leg. According to the Associated Press and Bart Hubbuch’s blog in the New York Post, the surgery will be performed by Dr. Daniel Cooper at North Central Surgical in Dallas on Thursday. Dr. Cooper is the head […]
The New York Times had an interesting article this past Sunday about the Mets handling of Jose Reyes’ injury. October 5, 2009, the day after the last game of the 2009 season, a season in which for the third straight year the Mets failed to make the post season Jeff Wilpon and the Mets had a media blitz, talking about what went wrong in 2009, what to expect in 2010 and the injuries that occurred […]
With the 2009 season finally over, the rebuilding for 2010 officially has started. Yesterday Jeff Wilpon along with Jerry Manuel and Omar Minaya had a press conference, discussing this horrible 2009 season and what to look forward to for the 2010 season. Later on in the afternoon/early evening Jeff Wilpon, Omar Minaya and Dave Howard went on WFan to talk with Mike Francesa. Fred Wilpon reiterated in the press conference as well as on the […]
On September 23rd I bogged on this site the following: “One final word on the nightmare campaign of Jose`Reyes. ENOUGH! You have had four months of rest and rehabilitation and how has that satiated the goal to return to action? Now with the season about to be placed in mothballs you sing the same old song. Forgetaboutit, Jose’, it’s time to mull Plan B. That is going under the knife (disregard the sanctimonious speech above-he’s […]
