Adios To The Three Fernandos
When we last left the Three Fernandos, they were defeating the evil forces of El Guapo (Derek Jeter), his right-hand man Jefe (Alex Rodriguez) and his left-hand man Castillo (Mark Teixeira). The Fernandos were able to thwart the Yankee bandits by confusing them into thinking they were everywhere. Dressed in matching Mets jerseys, the firepower provided by the bats of Gary Sheffield and Omir Santos and the cleanup crew of Sean Green and Francisco Rodriguez [...]

Three Amigos: The Next Generation
After the ending to last night’s game, the Mets needed someone to step up today. Perhaps it would take the collective efforts of more than one man to erase the bitter taste of the Friday Follies that took place in the ninth inning. Maybe three men would be needed. Which men could lead the team back into the win column? Enter the Three Amigos, or as I like to call them, the Three Fernandos! In [...]

Fernando Martinez Will Stay With Mets When Church Is Activated
Although the decision to bring up Fernando Martinez was met with 50/50 support on this site when we were lobbying heavily for his callup, I bet that at least some of those opposing Mets fans agree that F-Mart has been a fine addition and has held his own. When talking to reporters after last nights game, Jerry Manuel pretty much confirmed that the Mets prized rookie will stick around when Ryan Church is expected to be activated [...]

Fernando Martinez – Early Warning Signs?
Ryan Church is currently playing at Port St. Lucie with fellow detainee Jose Reyes. While Reyes is expected be activated on Friday, Church should be making his return on Sunday. The question as to who gets cut from the 25-man roster is an easy one when Reyes returns, but what happens when Church returns? Is it the end of the line for F-Mart? Adam Rubin asks that same question on his blog this morning, Could [...]

The Mets Were At Their Best In May… Really!
This about all of the highs and lows of the last month… The month of May started out with Oliver Perez losing his rotation spot, going to the bullpen, and ending up on the DL with a bum knee. All of our starters except for Johan Santana, had ERA’s that were 5.50 or higher, and in some of those cases MUCH higher. The month of May also socked the Mets with a boatload of injuries [...]

Did F-Mart Get F-Word From Fans?
There has been a lot of talk about Fernando Martinez and his share of “boos” Wednesday night at Citi Field, after failing to run out a pop up that was ultimately dropped. Fellow Mets fan, friend and colleague, Tanya Mercado of citifieldofdreams.com was at the game and said that Martinez heard it from the crowd all night. Let me make one thing perfectly clear. I am not saying I am pleased with Fernando’s actions. Even Johan Santana knew to run [...]

Regarding F-Mart, I Knew This Would Happen!
Most of you know by now, about how the recently called-up Fernando Martinez failed to run out a fair popup in front of the plate. It was a stupid mistake and he should have been hauling ass. After the game Jerry Manuel explained, “That was really an unfortunate thing for him, but it was a mistake. I don’t see that as part of his regular behavior.” Martinez was clearly embarrassed and said, “I will say sorry [...]

Mets Sweep The Nationals, Mets Win 7-4
Game Summary The Mets Sweep! It may have not been the prettiest win of the season, but the Mets beat the Nationals 7-4 tonight and completed the sweep for their third straight win. Johan Santana clearly didn’t have it today, but luckily the offense picked him up and he was able to walk away with the win. Daniel Murphy had a big day at the plate with three hits including a double and a homerun [...]

Mets Win 6-1 On A Hernandez Complete Game Victory
The Mets got help from technology…again, as they took game one against the Nationals at home. The Mets look to keep on a winning streak as Livan Hernandez looks to get his fourth win as he is 3-1 with a 4.93 ERA. The Mets will go up against the Nationals’ rookie pitcher Craig Stammen who is 0-0 with a 5.68 ERA. Hernandez lost his first game against the Nationals in 2006, but since then he’s posted a 3.34 ERA while [...]

According to WFAN, Ryan Church and Jose Reyes have been put on the 15-day DL, Omar Minaua told reporters today. Fernando Martinez has been promoted, and is on his way to Citi Field. The Mets also traded cash to the Indians for minor-league SS Wilson Valdez, who will be promoted immediately to the 25-man roster.
