Mets Notes – Delgado Out, Larry Too, Mets Are Really Good
Eddie Coleman has just announced on WFAN, that first baseman Carlos Delgado will not only miss today’s game with a chronic sore hip, but that there is a chance he could end up going on the disabled list. The Mets will not make that decision until they evaluate him after 2 or 3 more days. A recent MRI did not reveal any structural damage. Fernando Tatis will play first base for the Mets today. The [...]

Mets Hang On To Beat The Braves 4-3
Game Summary Despite a solid pitching performance by Livan Hernandez and some clutch hitting, the Mets almost let the win slip through their fingers thanks to some shoddy defense. Luckily, Chipper’s liner landed in Church’s glove for the final out and the Mets eked out the victory and completed a mini sweep of the Braves. Mets Pitching Livan Hernandez gave the Mets the kind of start they really needed to build some momentum. He wasn’t [...]

Carlos Delgado Update Is Not Encouraging
David Lennon reports a not so optimistic view on the status of Carlos Delgado and his ailing hip. Carlos Delgado said he was not ready to play today after taking BP a few moments ago. GM Omar Minaya spoke with the first baseman behind the batting cage and Delgado told him he was “feeling better” but not to the point where he was OK to start today against the Phillies. Even so, it now appears [...]

Delgado Out Friday, Doubtful For Weekend
Carlos Delgado will not be in the lineup Friday night as the Mets take on the Philadelphia Phillies in Citizens Bank Park due to right hip soreness, according to rotoworld.com. Mets Beat Brewers 5-4 On Castillo Walk-off Hit
In typical fashion, the Mets got off to an early 3-0 lead when Jose Reyes singled to center to get things started and moved to second when Murphy singled to center. A David Wright single loaded the bases for Delgado who hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield scoring Reyes. Two batters later, Church is intentionally walked to load the bases and bring up Castro who worked out a bases loaded walk to bring home Murphy. Castillo [...]

Game Recap: Padres 6 – Mets 5
The Mets lost the game and the series to the Padres tonight thanks to a poor outing by John Maine and a lack of situational hitting. The game began with Ramon Castro behind the plate because Brian Schneider was given the night off after complaining of back and leg pain. Castro would later homer in the game. Jake Peavy started and did everything he could to give the Mets the win in the first inning. After a [...]

One Week Down. Twenty Five To Go
The first week of the season has been one of mixed emotions. It has provided us with both sources for optimism as well as reason for concern. Our hitting is off to a good start. Delgado has continued his offensive onslaught from last year, Beltran and Wright are definitely doing their part, Daniel Murphy is hitting just under 300 and Reyes, although a bit sluggish thus far, will soon kick it into high gear. Last [...]

Game Recap: Mets 9 – Reds 7
The Mets won a thriller tonight in Cincinnati by a score of 9-7.
