Jerry Manuel Is Running Out Of Rope
I’m not ready to say it’s time to trade up on Jerry Manuel, but lets just say I’m not his biggest supporter lately. Has anyone else noticde how he barely gets a chuckle whenever he makes a little joke or delivers a sarcastic response to a reporter, during the post game pressers lately? Not long ago, he would bring the house down after each game, but not anymore. The comments on this site regarding Manuel, has [...]

A Series By The Bay
This weekend, the Mets fly to the other coast to take on the San Francisco Giants in a four game series by the bay. The Mets and Giants have the exact same record of 18-15 coming into this series. The Giants have been winning of late, taking six of their last ten games. At home, the Giants have a 12-5 record, the first time they have had a winning home record in some time now. [...]

Mets Notes: Delgado Conference Call, Putz on WFAN
The Mets get set for a big 10 game road trip starting tonight at SanFran, but they have a lot on their minds besides just winning the game. Carlos Delgado – The Mets have scheduled a 4 p.m. conference call for reporters with general manager Omar Minaya to discuss the health of first baseman Carlos Delgado. He’ll most likely head to the disabled list, which could mean the Mets might callup… Fernando Martinez – Martinez [...]

Lets Go After Diamondbacks LHP Doug Davis
Jonathon Niese has been optioned back to Triple-A Buffalo and will be replaced on the roster by Nelson Figueroa. Niese didn’t fare nearly as well in his second start as he did in his season debut. Yesterday, he allowed five runs and seven hits in 4.2 innings today against the Braves. It looks like the spot vacated by Oliver Perez is going to become an odd game of musical chairs. We should be used to it [...]

What a Difference the Calendar Makes
So after starting the season 9-12 in April and looking like a mistake-prone bunch of overpriced players who can’t hit or pitch in the clutch, our Mets have gone 9-2 in May and sit in first place today at 18-14….

Mets Lose Heartbreaker To Braves 8-7, But They Battled
Game Summary Back to back walk off wins would have been really nice, but alas it wasn’t meant to be. However, it wasn’t due to a lack of trying. The Mets lost a tough game to their division rival Atlanta Braves by a score of 8-7 in a 12 inning marathon. Despite the loss, it was a great game from two teams who refused to lose. Pitching Jon Niese started the game and quickly got into [...]

Chipper Jones Won’t Be Naming Next Kid Citi
Last night, during a post game interview, Chipper Jones was still fuming over a call at third base that saw Carlos Beltran slide in safely on a steal attempt. Replay video showed that Beltran may have been tagged before touching the base, but that’s baseball. Chipper had plenty to say as he voiced his frustrations and pinned the loss on third base umpire Greg Gibson. “I’ve never had a guy slide into my glove and be safe,” [...]

5/13 Minor League Report! Mejia!
Buffalo 1, Gwinnett 9 Not much to say about this one. The Bisons were bootstomped, right from the outset, with Brandon Knight giving up 5 runs in 5 innings, and then Carlos Muniz putting the game out of reach giving up 4 UER in the 6th. The Bisons were held to 5 hits, by Angel Pagan (1 for 4, K, .200), Mike Lamb (2 for 4, run, 2b, .151), Jesus Feliciano (1 for 4, .287) [...]

Mets Played Hardball Last Night and Third Time Was A Charm
Last night was a coming out party for the Mets, in what was probably their most significant loss umm win of the season. The old Mets, you know the ones without any grit, would have lost the game last night and today we’d all be screaming and hollering about all the missed opportunities, runners left on base, and shoddy defense. And I’d be the one screaming the loudest. But last night, that was a different team [...]
