Mets sweep the Pirates in four games with a 6-2 win. Mike Pelfrey pitched seven great innings of two run baseball. Bullpen pitched well. Offense was lead by Angel Pagan and Lucas Duda who each had two RBIs on the night.

Game Summary

Mike Pelfrey has sealed his spot as next season’s number two starter (maybe even the ace with Johan out). Another great start by him with seven strong innings of only allowing two runs. Luckily, the offense showed up in time for him to get the lead and the win. He allowed six hits and four walks but kept the runs allowed low as he also struck out four batters. He receives his franchise leading 15th win and lowers his ERA to 3.84.

Feliciano and Parnell combine for two no-hit innings with two strikeouts for Pedro. You can always count on the bullpen when the games no longer matter in the season!

Mets offense really like to hit in either bunches or in empty barrels. Ten hits the Mets rallied, with six runs in four separate innings. Pagan, Thole and Duda lead the way of the offense with multiple hit night for each of them.

Angel Pagan had three hits and two RBIs in the game, along with his 34th stolen base of the season. Josh Thole had two hits in his start and scored a run.

Lucas Duda finally broke out of his rookie starting slump with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored.

Mike Pelfrey and Ike Davis both had an RBI in the game as well.

Reyes, Wright, Tejada and Jesus Feliciano all had 0-fers in the game.

Turning Point

Lucas Duda’s first double where he batted in two runs to tie up the game in the fourth inning.

Game Ball

Lucas Duda finally had a great offensive game, so he gets the game ball.
