According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post on Twitter, the New York Yankees have acquired Starlin Castro from the Chicago Cubs.
Additionally, Jack Curry of the YES Network also reports on Twitter that pitcher Adam Warren and a player to be named later are heading to Chicago in return.
Castro, 26 in March, has spent the last six seasons with the Cubs, hitting at a .281/.321/.404 clip, with a 10.3 total WAR.
The young second baseman/shortstop has been involved in trade rumors the last few seasons, and will now finally be on the move as he takes his talents to New York.

In return, the Cubs are getting a swing man type pitcher in Adam Warren.
Warren, 28, appeared in 43 games for the Yankees last season (17 starts), and pitched to a 7-7 record, with a 3.39 ERA and a 7.1 K/9.
Warren is a solid pitcher that the Cubs will add to their bullpen, but essentially, this was a Ben Zobrist for Starlin Castro swap. They had to move Castro to make Zobrist happen.
In one move, the Yankees have improved their second base situation and likely undermined the Mets at the same time, who now have to figure out what to do as a Plan B with Zobrist off the board.
