According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports on Twitter, the New York Yankees are making progress on a deal for Giancarlo Stanton.
Passan adds that one source cautioned nothing is imminent, but another said it is advancing towards that. He concluded his tweet by saying the Yankees momentum in adding the slugger is significant.
The Bronx is a destination that Stanton would reportedly not veto a deal to should a deal go down.

The San Francisco Giants announced Friday night that they are no longer in the running for NL MVP Giancarlo Stanton after he decided not to waive no his no-trade clause for them.
Earlier on Friday night the St. Louis Cardinals released a statement saying they were out of the Stanton sweepstakes.

The St. Louis Cardinals have been informed that Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton will not waive his no-trade clause in any deal to them.
Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak released this statement, “Unfortunately we were not able to convince Stanton to waive his no-trade clause and join the Cardinals. We felt this was a great landing spot for him, but it was not meant to be.”
The Cardinals were willing to eat $250 million of the $295 million left on Stanton’s contract according to Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
There hasn’t been definitive word yet on whether Stanton would accept a trade to the San Francisco Giants, who have been one of the most aggressive teams in pursuing him.
It was reported on Thursday night that Stanton would approve a trade to the New York Yankees, Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Cardinals are expected to keep talking to the Marlins about acquiring an outfielder, having already shown interest in Marcell Ozuna and Christian Yelich.
The 2017 NL MVP has a full no-trade clause and is from the LA area.
