Good news everyone… David Wright will be starting at third base this afternoon when the Mets take on the Cardinals in Jupiter, Florida at 1:00 PM,

“I’m going to make sure I’m still allowed to go,” Wright said shortly before 8 a.m., as he headed to the trainer’s room. “I’m planning on it.”

This would mark Wright’s first Grapefruit League game of the spring. Yesterday aftre batting practice he told reporters he felt great and manager Terry Collins hinted that there was a good chance Wright would play today or Tuesday at the latest.

Wright has been sidelined by an abdominal muscle tear he suffered early in camp.

It looks like a few players are starting to get healthier just in time as Scott Hairston has also been making progress, and now it appears Tim Byrdak will only miss the first series of the season.

Here’s the lineup for this afternoon’s game against the Cardinals:

1. Ruben Tejada SS
2. Daniel Murphy 2B
3. David Wright 3B
4. Lucas Duda RF
5. Justin Turner 1B
6. Mike Baxter LF
7. Josh Thole C
8. Matt den Dekker CF
