According to reporters at Citi Field David Wright has been scratched from the lineup on Tuesday after telling Terry Collins that his back was tight.

Wright told Collins that he could still play tonight, byt Collins made the decision to scratch him.

This is coming after Wright had consecutive days off to get ready for the Nationals series, although he did pinch-hit Sunday. Obviously there are some big concerns in that Mets clubhouse right now.

Newly promoted Matt Reynolds will start at third base, bat ninth, and make his major league debut.

Wright, 33, is batting .229 but has a .373 on base percentage in 109 at-bats. He has 4 homers and 8 RBI with 44 strikeouts on the season.
