The Phillies took a wild Game 1 from the Astros 6-5 thanks to a 10th-inning solo home run by J.T. Realmuto. The Astros got out to a 5-0 lead headed to the fourth inning before the Phillies scored three in the top of the fourth and two more in the top of the fifth to tie the game at 5-5.

Both starters, Aaron Nola and Justin Verlander gave up five earned runs and didn’t make it past the fifth inning.

Kyle Tucker had three hits and four RBIs for the Astros including two home runs. Realmuto was on base three times and knocked in three runs for the Phillies.

Left-hander Framber Valdez (1-0, 1.42 ERA) gets the start on Saturday for the Astros and Zack Wheeler (1-1, 1.78 ERA) goes for the Phillies. Both starters were terrific during the regular season and have continued that in the postseason.
