The 2023 World Baseball Classic rosters were revealed on MLB Network Thursday night with the tournament less than a month away from starting. The Mets will be one of the more active teams in the tournament with 15 players from the majors and minor leagues on rosters.
The rosters are filled with the best players on the planet including Mike Trout (USA), Mookie Betts (USA), Francisco Lindor (PR), Sandy Alcantara (DR), Juan Soto (DR), Ronald Acuna Jr. (VE), and Freddie Freeman (CA).

WBC rules to keep in mind:
- DH for all teams
- New 2023 MLB rules (shift, pitch clock) are NOT used
- 3-Batter rule used
- 65 pitches per game in the First Round of the Tournament;
- 80 pitches per game in the Quarterfinal Round of the Tournament; and
- 95 pitches per game in the Championship Round of the Tournament
- Pitcher can’t pitch until a minimum of one day has passed since he last pitched at least 30 pitches in previous outing
The Mets will host Team Nicaragua on March 8 and Team Venezuela on March 9 at Clover Field in Port St. Lucie for exhibition games.
The WBC gets underway on March 8 with Pool A games taking place in Taiwan. Pool B then starts on March 9 in Japan, Pool C. The last two Pools, Pool C in Phoenix, Arizona, and Pool D in Miami, Florida will both start on March 11. The championship will take place in Miami, Florida on March 21.
