Caminero was called on to pitch the bottom of the ninth inning with the Leones up 7-4 and struggled immensely his command. Despite throwing only nine of his twenty pitches for strikes, including two wild pitches, he was able to convert his second save of the LIDOM post-season.

After posting his worst start of the season last week, Mejia was superb in this one striking out twelve Estrellas batters on only 82 pitches. As has been the case recently, Mejia really emphasized his curveball in this one and generated a large number of swings and misses with it. He also seemed to catch hitters off-balanced all night by using a more traditional four-seam fastball as opposed to his usual sinker. After allowing two singles in the second inning, Mejia proceeded to retire twelve of the next thirteen batters picking up eight of his strikeouts along the way.
